SWAT Solutions Inc.
To be eligible for the Growth 50 list, companies must be privately held and based in the 11-county Twin Cities metro area. Eligible firms also had to have at least $1 million in revenue in the first of the three most recent fiscal years and progressive growth in the subsequent two years.
Interview with David Steingart, CEO:
How did your company raise capital to fund its growth?
No outside capital has been raised. My partner, Steve Timmerman, and I have been reinvesting the earnings each year to fund our consistent, fast-paced growth.
What has been the primary driver of your revenue growth?
Our talented sales and recruiting staff has been making steady progress toward finding software-quality needs within new and existing clients and hiring the best experts to meet those needs. Because we're the premier software-quality firm in our market, our reputation and relationships have made it easier to attract top talent and gain exposure to the needs of our existing and potential clients.
What has been your biggest business coup in the past 12 months?
Winning our third Fast 50 award in as many years is probably our biggest coup. Seriously, there have been no specific coups causing our growth. We continue to add Fortune 500 companies and smaller local companies that recognize software-quality assurance as a critical part of their business.
Has your company been affected by rising energy prices?
Yes, to some degree. As a consulting firm, our consultants drive to various client sites around the Twin Cities area. We now have more concerns about the distance our consultants must drive. Traffic congestion is also becoming an increasing factor in where we place our consultants.
Have you implemented any green business practices to offset this?
Nothing official. We must now take into consideration driving distance for our consultants more than in past years.
What are your plans for the coming year?
As the premier software-quality consulting firm in the Twin Cities, we'll continue to search for the best consultants in our field. We'll also continue meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of new and existing clients. We plan to increase our name recognition and credibility for the SWAT Lab. See, we're already doing it.
